Social Project Visit to City of God
In Brazil unfortunately exists a stark contrast between the rich and the poor of the country. This fact is especially sad while looking at the elderly. First non-profit day care center for senior citizens in Brazil, Casa de Santa Ana, is a reference for elderly care in poor communities in the country. Completing 25 years of existence in 2016 the organization grew from providing just a place to stay during the day into a Center which fosters the integration between different age groups through music, dance, and many other activities in which helps the elderly to find back their dignity. With this tour you become acquainted with some of the many activities of the non-profit organization. Casa de Santa Ana is located in the neighborhood Cidade de Deus (City of God), this area became the inspiration for the book and the movie City of God. After visiting the Casa, our guide takes you for a walk around the favela to learn more about the every-day life in this community.
By going on the tour you financially support the activities of Casa de Santa Ana.

"If you visit Brazil try the Favela trip with Rodrigo to the City of God, Rodrigo was an amazing guide with an amazing amount of knowledge and history about Brazil and the favelas.. The project his family runs is interesting and supporting the community. Nothing was too much trouble even at the end of the tour, My friend wanted a shave and he took him to a local barber in the favela". "The Favela tour was totally different from what we know in England. I would definitely recommend this tour, but book it at the early stages of your holiday because, Rodrigo will give you so much information and ideas on what to do, you will need a good week to do everything, he made our holiday.Tthe fee you pay also helps the charity."
