Day 1 – Rio de Janeiro – Ilha Grande

 

Early Transfer in the morning (2hours) to the port where the speed boat departs to Ilha Grande. Meet and greet at the island and check in at a charming pousada with breakfast.

 

Ilha Grande (The Big Island) with 95% of its area covered with primary Atlantic Rainforest, has one of the most beautiful beaches in whole Brazil, is the perfect spot for the lovers of snorkeling, diving, surfing, hiking or the ones who simply want to relax in its idyllic laid-back atmosphere. In the past a hosted a prison and nowadays a top destination that keeps yet its tranquility. Abrãao is the main village and the “capital” of the island where your pousada is located, the place counts with the basic infrastructure you need, supermarket, restaurants, bars and taxi boats to discover the coast.

 

Day 2 –  Ilha Grande

 

Free Day to Relax and enjoy this beautiful and laid-back island.

 

  

Day 03 –Ilha Grande - Paraty

Late morning Transfer by speed boat and car to Paraty. 

 

Astonishing example of an extremely well preserved Portuguese old colonial town, Paraty has known its golden age in the late 17th century when massive quantities of gold were transported in mules from the countryside through steep mountains to the coast.

 

Arrival and check in at our selected charming Pousada. 2 nights with breakfast.

 

Free evening to enjoy the great gastronomical options of this town.

 

 

Day 04 – Paraty

 

Day tour to Mamanguá Tropical Fjord and hike.

 

Brazil’s only tropical fjord, the Saco do Mamanguá, is a unique marine ecosystem and tropical paradise. On this day trip we set out from Paraty by public bus to Paraty Mirim village where we catch a boat into the fjord. We hike up Mamanguá Sugarloaf Peak (440m) for incredible views of the whole region. On the way back we stop for lunch at a restaurant on the beach and there is time for swimming in its beautiful tranquil waters.

 

 

Day 05 – Paraty – Rio de Janeiro

 

Check out in the morning and transfer to Rio de Janeiro.
